Saving Rainforests

Fighting Climate Change

Tropical rainforests support over 50% of the world's species, many of which are critically endangered, and are home to thousands of Indigenous communities who rely on the forests for their food, water and economic prosperity. Rainforests also safely store billions of tonnes of carbon, helping to fight climate change and stabilise global weather patterns. In short, they are one of the most important natural resources on Earth, and their long-term protection is vital for the survival of our planet and the countless species that inhabit it – including us. However, around 11 football pitches of tropical rainforest are destroyed every minute.

In 2023, The Nature Recovery Project supported Rainforest Trust's project Saving the Brazilian Amazon.

Funding from The Nature Recovery Project will help Rainforest Trust and partner, Instituto Internacional de Educação do Brasil, to safeguard this unique ecosystem through designations that legally recognise land tenure of traditional communities and their long-standing role in managing their lands. In total, this project will safeguard 2.2 million acres in the states of Amazonas and Pará, and The Nature Recovery Project's donation is enough to fund the protection of 351,556 acres!

The Nature Recovery Project actively seek partners we can support in ensuring the survival of all the world's rainforests.
